Abstract
|
Taking LiH polar diatomic molecule for instance, the dynamical process of population transfer in the two-state model, from the ground electronic state X1Σ+ to the excited electronic state A1Σ+ through transition dipole moment, is studied theoretically. The time-dependent quantum wavepacket method is used to solve two coupled Schrodinger equation numerically. The population transfer of ground and excited electronic states through the interaction of laser pulse and molecular permanent dipole moments is also considered. These population transfer processes are realized using short linearly polarized laser pulses in the ultraviolet and infrared regions. By selecting the peak intensity, central frequency, duration of laser pulses, etc, the final population transfer probability is more than 90% after the laser pulse is turned off. |
